  • Second day for PAT hearing

    Posted On 9 Nov 2011

The Police Arbitration Tribunal (PAT) hearing will go into a second day as proceedings were not concluded on 8th November. The hearing has been adjourned until Tuesday 22 November 2011; therefore it is difficult to say whether we will get their decision before or after Christmas as a ruling is expected 'within 28 days of the hearing'. The tribunal is being held after the Official Side and Staff Side of the Police Negotiating Board failed to reach an agreement in July. It is considering the recommendations from the first part of Tom Winsor's review of pay and conditions.

  • Please see below a web link to the speech delivered this afternoon by Police Minister, Nick Herbert MP, to the Police Foundation at its annual one-day conference. What the text cannot illustrate is the arrogance of his delivery as he aimed his comments at any organisation that does not agree with the government vision for changes to policing; but I am sure that will come as no surprise to anyone.
