    The determinations implementing recommendations made by the PAT and PNB in respect of proposals from Tom Winsor’s Part 1 Report were issued late on March 31st. The effective date of these is 1 April 2012.

  • Journalists from leading media outlets were invited to West Midlands Police Federation’s headquarters at Guardians House on Thursday 29th March for a regional Police Federation press conference aimed at explaining the current crisis in policing. The conference was organised as soon as the national Police Federation announced that it was holding a ballot asking members if they wanted to seek full industrial rights including the right to strike.

  • No faith, no trust

    Police officers no longer have any trust or faith in the Home Secretary or the Government, according to Paul McKeever, chairman of the Police Federation. He spoke out after the Home Secretary today announced that she would refer the whole of the Winsor 2 report to the Police Negotiating Board.

  • The Police Federation of England and Wales national committee today voted unanimously to hold a ballot of its membership on the question of whether police officers want full industrial rights. They also agreed to hold an event in central London before the Police Federation’s annual conference in May to highlight the unprecedented attack on policing by this government and the consequences that these cuts will have for public safety.

  • Retiring Lincolnshire Police Chief Constable Richard Crompton has said the force is nearing the point where it will not be able to offer the same level of service to the public. Lincolnshire Police needs to reduce its budget by £20m over the next four years due to government cuts.
