  • Police Credit Union Fundraising

    Posted On 12 Jun 2013

Some of our building colleagues at the Police Credit Union are trekking in the heat of the desert through the Grand Canyon - in a bid to raise £16,000 for Children Today. Started on the 8th June, the spectacular eight day journey will take the Police CU team through one of the world’s greatest wonders, up and down steep, rocky, mountain tracks and through breath-taking scenery. All have ensured the full costs of participating are already covered and so proceeds from the site all go to helping UK children with disabilities via the Children Today Charitable Trust. Please help them raise as much as possible by making a donation today.

  • The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) await confirmation of the exact details of the remuneration for officers deployed on Mutual Aid as part of Operation Sponsor (G8 Summit). The position of the PFEW is that payments and allowances specified in Police Regulations and Determinations must form the basis of any remuneration during G8 and be the minimum entitlement for officers.

  • Update - mutual aid to G8

    Posted On 5 Jun 2013

At a meeting yesterday with PSNI in Belfast, Ian Rennie and I made it clear that officers undertaking mutual aid at the G8 summit must be paid in accordance with current Regulations and Determinations. Message from Chairman of PFEW, Steve Williams: There remains a lack of clarity about this from the PSNI, and in turn ACPO and the Home Office, and we are seeking to reach a swift confirmation from them in the coming days. I will keep you updated as to any developments but PFEW has been clear that we do not expect anything more than what our officers are rightly entitled to and that their entitlements must be upheld.
