  • Welfare Support Programme

    Officers involved in death or serious injury incidents that result in post-incident investigations or those who are suspended from duty can now access to the Federation’s Welfare Support Programme (WSP). This has been created for officers who find themselves having to cope with often life changing situations through the course of their duties.

  • Police officers involved in pursuits and response should seek legal advice before making statements about incidents, even if told they are only being interviewed as a witness. That was the advice from QC Mark Aldred at the Police Federation of England and Wales Roads Policing Conference, as he explained the lack of legislation around exemptions for police drivers.

  • In the face of the 1% public sector pay limit set by the Treasury, the Police Federation is asking for a pay increase of 2.8% for all police officers. In its second submission to the Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB), a joint submission with the Police Superintendents’ Association of England and Wales, the Police Federation has asked for an annual uplift in line with the average private sector increase.

  • 2016 sees the return of the "PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund", Run To Remember challenge, when they launched the run in 2013/14 they saw nearly 2,000 Police Officers & staff take part in running 2 miles per day for 125 days.

  • The next West Midlands Police Federation Roadshow is aimed at officers based at Birmingham West and Central LPU.It is to be held in the Old Bar at Steelhouse Lane Police Station on Friday 18 March 2016 between 0930 and 1430. Member services providers will be available to talk to members and discuss the services they can provide.
