Officers fear letting down the public as they struggle to get to crime scenes or urgent calls for assistance within the 15-minute target due to the lack of a siren on the 109 Vauxhall Corsa patrol cars, according to West Midlands Police Federation. The Federation’s deputy chairman, Tom Cuddeford, and health and safety lead Pete Harkness have spoken out on the issue and have pledged to work with the Force to find a solution.

The next West Midlands Police Federation Roadshow is aimed at officers based at Coventry LPU.It is to be held in the Gavin Carlton Room on Monday 14 September 2015 between 1000 and 1500.
As some members may be aware a group of officers have entered into an arrangement with a law firm to represent them to challenge the Government over the changes to police officer pensions.
Throughout the pension reform process PFEW has listened to the views and concerns of members and the Pension Challenge group, and we have taken advice from our lawyers and from leading counsel about the legality of the Government’s changes. We have recently taken further advice from leading counsel as to whether the position has changed or is affected by the publication of the Police Pensions Regulations 2015.
