  • PC Mitchinson's grave restored

    We had been informed by retired officer Faulkner who had said the grave of PC Alfred Mitchinson was in dreadful state. PC Mitchinson was killed on duty on the 23rd November 1940 and the grave is located in the graveyard of Elmdon Church. The Cannabis Disposal Team at West Midlands Police agreed to help out!

Member services providers will be available to talk to members and discuss the services they can provide.

  • An unarmed West Midlands police officer who single-handedly took on an axe-wielding man has been nominated for a Police Bravery Award. Constable Paul Hopley will be recognised at the 21st Police Bravery Awards on 14 July. The awards honour and recognise police officers who performed outstanding acts of bravery while on or off duty, and are sponsored by Police Mutual.

The RAC have asked us to pass on the following guidance which they hope will be helpful to members who are planning to drive to France whilst the strikes are still causing problems with fuel: ‘RAC fuel spokesman Simon Williams said: “The fuel shortage situation in France caused by industrial action is unfortunately worsening. Initially the problems were focussed on northern France from Brittany to Calais, but we are now getting reports from the central, western and southern regions of the country too.
