    Retiring from the Force marks a major change in any officer’s life so, with this in mind, West Midlands Police Federation organises seminars to ensure members are properly prepared. The seminars are open to officers in their last three years of service and are also open to their husband, wife or partner. They are held at the West Midlands Police Federation office at Guardians House in Sheldon.

  • Police Federation's Pay & Morale survey results on eve of National Custody Seminar Nearly one in five (18.9%) custody officers want to be redeployed away from detention duties as soon as possible. And nearly three-quarters (73.1%) of officers not currently in a custody role say they would never want to do that job. The survey results back up the long-held view that custody is still perceived as a ‘punishment posting’ by many, says the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW).

  • A hard-hitting video showing the effects of funding cuts on policing in the West Midlands has been sent to all the region’s MPs as part of a Police Federation initiative. West Midlands Police Federation, which represents the constables, sergeants and inspecting ranks who make up the majority of the Force’s 6,600 officers, teamed up with Birmingham based video marketing and production company Tinker Taylor to produce the innovative video book for the second wave of its Cuts Have Consequences campaign and is urging MPs to do more to encourage the Government to re-invest in policing.
