HELP for HEROES
West Midlands Police Federation are supporting the very worthwhile charity Help for Heroes, which helps our wounded servicemen and women get the best help, support and futures that they deserve.
At the National Police Federation Conference last year, we managed to raise an amazing £5,060 for the charity, through selling raffle tickets and Help for Heroes wristbands on our stand.
You can help us to raise even more money for Help for Heroes, by buying a wristband or lapel pin from Guardians House. Bands are £2 each and pins £3 each and this goes directly to the Charity.
You can either drop into Guardians House, or send a cheque made payable to Help for Heroes to Member Services, Guardians House, 2111 Coventry Road, Sheldon, Birmingham, B26 3EA, and include your return address and we'll put the bands in the post to you.
About Help for Heroes
The charity HELP for HEROES was launched in October 2007 in response to the desire of ordinary people to do something practical to help our wounded servicemen and women.
In the past the charity has helped to provide a swimming pool and gym complex at the tri service rehabilitation centre at Headley Court. Money raised has given Combat Stress, the charity that helps veterans with mental wounds, a grant of £3.5 million. The charity have also donated £500K to complete the SSAFA Forces Help ‘Homes from Home’ appeal to provide relative’s houses at Headley Court and Selly Oak.
HELP for HEROES needs to raise a great deal of money and as that money comes in, it will be spent on improving facilities, and by giving grants to the right organisations to ensure that our wounded get the very best. Any money raised makes a very real difference to our Armed Forces.
